Every year, March 21 is celebrated with mismatched, colorful socks. You may be wondering, why mismatched socks? People with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome, which is why 3/21 was chosen as the date. The karyotype of down syndrome chromosomes actually looks like mismatched socks!
